SUMMARY:Bringing Out the Best: A Discussion About Benefit Corporations
DESCRIPTION:What if a corporation was able to seek profits while also doing good in the world? One answer is the "benefit corporation." This leads to the question: To B or not to B?\n\n \n\nIs a benefit corporation in your future? Enjoy a light breakfast and an expert panel discussion about benefit corporations sponsored by the Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation on February 14th.\n\n \n\nUtah passed legislation in 2014 enabling established or new Utah companies to become benefit corporations. Benefit corporations voluntarily hold themselves to the highest standards to create a postive impact on society and the environment. They are also required to consider the impact of their decisions on not only shareholders\, but also on workers\, community and the environment. \n\n \n\nWhen companies pledge to do more for the planet and its people\, millenials are responding. Millenials are saying that sustainability is a shopping priority and most say they would take a pay cut to work for a socially responsible company.
