SUMMARY:Driven to Assist with 1000 Blood Drive Doners
DESCRIPTION:The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies' "Driven to Assist" initiative is partnering with the Salt Lake Chamber to give back to the local community during this public health crisis. We are holding a by-appointment-only blood drive on June 1-5 at Vivint Smart Home Arena (VSHA) to benefit the American Red Cross.  You and your families are invited to participate. A donation of one unit of blood helps up to three people in need. \n\n\n\nHow to donate:\n\nIf you'd like to schedule a time to donate blood\, please CLICK HERE and enter sponsor code: LHM\n\n\n\nAppointments are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily\; we strongly recommend scheduling an appointment. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. Donors must be at least 16 years of age (with parental consent)\, weigh at least 110 pounds and in generally good health. Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows the highest standards of safety and infection control. Precautions to ensure the health of staff and donors include to:\n\n\n	Provide temperature checks of staff and donors before entering a drive.\n	Provide hand sanitizer before entering the drive and during the donation process.\n	Enforce social distancing between donors\, including in the entry\, donation\, and refreshment areas.\n	Ensure that both staff and donors wear face masks\, coverings\, or both.\n	Disinfect surfaces\, equipment\, and donor touched areas on a routine basis.\n	Wear gloves and change gloves often.\n	Use sterile collection sets and an aseptic scrub for every donation.\n\n\n\n\nDonors are encouraged to utilize the American Red Cross' RapidPass  and complete the online\, pre-donation questionnaire on the day of their appointment to save up to 15 minutes at the blood drive. To get started\, follow the instructions at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App\, and code LHM.\n\n\n\nPlease bring an acceptable form of ID. To expedite entry and to reduce screening touchpoints\, bags (including purses and diaper bags) are not allowed at VSHA.
