The Women's Business Center of Utah is hosting Recipe for Success week\, aka Foodtrepreneur (x3!)\n\n \n\nTwo experts from USU Extension will go over how to successfully calculate profit for your food business\, how to analyze costs and margin\, how to look at fixed costs\, track inventory\, structure an enterprise budget\, keep track of inventory and successfully price your product.\n\n \n\nMeet the Speakers!\n\n \n\nDr. Karin Allen\n\nAssociate Professor / Extension Food Quality & Entrepreneurship Specialist\n\nDepartment of Nutrition\, Dietetics\, and Food Sciences\n\nUtah State University\n\nKarin Allen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition\, Dietetics and Food Sciences at Utah State University and serves as the Food Quality and Entrepreneurship Specialist for Cooperative Extension.  Dr. Allen works with small food producers (both on and off the farm) to address food processing issues including labeling\, safety\, and regulatory compliance\, as well as issues specific to agritourism and community supported agriculture operations.\n\n \n\nDr. Ruby Ward\n\nProfessor/ Agriculture Entrepreneurship Specialist\n\nDr. Ruby Ward was raised on a farm and ranch in South-eastern Idaho. From Texas A&M University she received an MBA and a PhD in Agricultural Economics. Dr. Ward is a professor in the Department of Applied Economics at Utah State University.  Dr. Ward has delivered educational programs in Utah and the surrounding region for the last 19 years.  She has also developed and led the state-wide Diversified Agriculture Conference for the 10 years and an Urban and Small Farms Conference for 6 years.
