DESCRIPTION:Stoel Rives LLP\, a business law firm in Salt Lake City\, is teaming up with Strider Bikes\, the world's leading manufacturer and marketer of children's no-pedal balance bikes\, to give away 120 Strider Bikes to local youth.\n\n\n\nEmployees at Stoel Rives assembled all of the bikes\, and the firm is hosting a Giveaway Party on Wednesday\, May 25 from 5 7 p.m. at the Gallivan Center\, 239 Main Street\, Salt Lake City. Rad Canyon BMX will be onsite with a FREE Adventure Zone where children can come test ride a Strider Bike. The Giveaway Party is open to the public.\n\n\n\nStoel Rives will be donating 50 of the bikes to the children and families at Lolie Eccles Early Education Center: Childcare\, Preschool & Kindergarten\, part of YWCA Utah\, and another 50 to the Wasatch Christian Early Learning Center. In addition\, 20 Strider Bikes will be given away to the public at the May 25 Giveaway Party. \n\n\n\n"Stoel Rives is happy to sponsor the Strider event because we believe in the numerous benefits that stem from getting kids on bikes at an early age\," said Reed Topham\, Partner at Stoel Rives. "In addition to the obvious physical benefits\, cycling contributes to improved mental health through interaction with family\, friends\, and the outdoor environment. We believe these benefits are increasingly important in a world that encourages young people to spend more and more time isolated in a virtual world through electronic devices."\n\n\n\n"Cycling is also an important form of active transportation\, which benefits our community by reducing traffic congestion and air pollution\," added David "D.J." Williams\, Partner at Stoel Rives. "We believe that an early introduction to cycling will lead to lifelong ridership." \n\n\n\nAfter the May 25 Giveaway Party\, local toddlers can practice their skills to race in the Salt Lake City Strider Cup race on June 25. The Salt Lake City Race is the second of three events in the 2016 Strider Cup\, a national Strider Bike racing series for toddlers and children. These family-friendly races for the tiniest competitors give small children a chance to put their Strider Balance Bike skills to the test. The Strider Cup Race is returning to Salt Lake City after an exciting race last year at Pioneer Park. Photos and a video from last year are on the 2015 Strider Cup Salt Lake City page.\n\n\n\n"My three-year-old daughter\, Meg\, rode a Strider Bike last summer and had a lot of fun\," said Loren Hulse\, Intellectual Property Attorney at Stoel Rives. "This spring she sat on a pedal bike for the first time and was off and riding independently within minutes!"\n\n\n\nThe June 25 event will have races for 2-\, 3-\, 4-\, and 5-year-olds\, and Special Needs riders of all ages. Registration fee is $25 online or $35 on-site for the toddler races. Strider has waived the registration fee for riders with special needs. Racers will receive a Strider goodie bag valued at more than $50 with their registration\, and all racers will receive either a medal or a trophy. Pre-registration is open now at http://www.striderbikes.com/saltlakecity.\n\n\n\nThe 2016 Strider Cup races will be held on June 11 in Lincoln\, Nebraska\, on June 25 in Salt Lake City\, Utah and July 9 in Spokane\, WA. Participating in any of these events automatically qualifies the rider for the Strider Cup World Championship\, July 29-30 at Pier 35 in San Francisco\, California.
