DESCRIPTION:Session 1:Past-Present-Future\; Lessons We Can Learn from our Industry's Past as We Build a More Equitable Future\n\nTuesday\, September 29th\, 9:00-10:30 am MST (virtual leadership training)\n\n\n\nJoin us for a presentation on the history of residential segregation locally\, including the practice of redlining.  Neighborhoods and their residents that were redlined continue to suffer the effects of disinvestment and discrimination long after these government policies were repealed.  Presenters will discuss industry trends and the initiatives we can undertake together to enhance equality in real estate.\n\n\n\nAmanda Cooley completed her capstone research on the legacy of redlining in Salt Lake City and will share her findings with us.  Babs DeLay will share a real estate professional's perspective about how neighborhoods and residents are still seeing the effects today.  Juanita Hardy\, Senior Visiting Fellow for Creative Placemaking for ULI will discuss how creative placemaking can help achieve equitable development for the future.  Ty McCutcheon\, President & CEO of Daybreak Communities will be moderating this discussion.
