DESCRIPTION:Why do women-led companies have a tough time raising money from investors? Why do investors have a tough time funding women-led companies? Do women lack creativity? Leadership? Are they less innovative?\n\nDo these questions make you uncomfortable or angry? GOOD! Because these are some of the perceptions that must be overcome for more women entrepreneurs to achieve success. What are the reasons women have a more difficult time than their male counterparts finding capital to start or grow their businesses?\n\n\n\nIn the morning\, WeROC will target influencers and investors who focus on investing in women-led companies and women entrepreneurs looking to overcome the hurdles of raising equity for their companies.\n\nIn the afternoon\, several regionally pre-selected women entrepreneurs who have been guided through the VentureCapital.org mentoring process will each present their company in a ten-minute "pitch" to a panel of venture capitalists\, investors and influencers. The panel will share candid\, direct feedback to help the presenters raise funds. Afterwards\, a reception where all participants and attendees can informally network and discuss the topics.
