Continuing our tradition, we will be celebrating the contributions made on behalf of children in our communities by honoring The Salt Lake Home Builder’s Association with our annual Children’s Humanitarian Award. Due to their generosity, and long-time partnership with Camp K, we have been able to expand our programs and services, and continually reach out to new populations.
We will honor Goldman Sachs with our annual Community Service Award, which celebrates people and organizations in our community who have made a deep impact on Camp K and our programs. For many years, they have made tremendous contributions to the Camp K’s success through service and their team’s generous assistance.
Spectra Benefits will be honored with our first Community Partnership Award. In today’s complex world, we have realized that partnerships are critical to fulfilling our mission and increasing our reach into the community. Spectra Benefits is a prime example of what a beautiful and meaningful partnership can achieve for this community.
Ben McKenna, our 2018-2019 Ambassador, has done a tremendous job! We have enjoyed watching him gain confidence as he transitioned from camper to Camp K Staff through our Summer Work Exploration Experience and Training program. We are forever grateful that he has been such an inspiration to both the staff and students at Camp K.
Ben will pass the torch to Krissy Bates, our new 2019-2020 Ambassador. Krissy has been coming to Camp K for more than 30 years. Krissy loves going to the Jazz Games, attending all of Camp K’s parties, and acting in our Drama productions. Recently, she starred as Jasmine in our production of Aladdin. We look forward to hearing from her at the Gala
We are thrilled to announce a special performance by Peter Breinholt! Peter performed at Camp K during the summer of 2018, and we look forward to welcoming him back to Camp K! His debut record became the best-selling independently released CD ever in the state of Utah, and was described a decade after it’s release as “an underground classic” by Salt Lake Magazine. Peter has performed for countless sold out crowds in every major concert hall in the state, including Kingsbury Hall, Tuacahn and Sundance. Utah Governor Gary Herbert recently honored Peter with the Governor’s Mansion Lifetime Achievement Award for his enduring influence as a songwriter and performing artist.
Please join us for a fun-filled evening, and help us celebrate. The Gala includes great food and drinks, entertainment, and silent and live auctions.
