ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
The Salt Lake Chamber is the state’s largest and longest-standing business association. A statewide
chamber of commerce with members in all 29 Utah counties, the Chamber represents the broad
interests of the state’s 63,000-plus employers, which employ more than 1.4 million Utahns.


JOB DESCRIPTION
Sales Representatives with the Salt Lake Chamber are responsible for the identification of appropriate
potential partners; presenting the benefits and value of Chamber membership, and closing of Chamber
memberships. Specifically, this position must develop and maintain a lead generation program and
pipeline of prospective Chamber members through the current database. The position also requires
multiple sales presentations daily and travel along the Wasatch Front to meet with business owners.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience dealing with small and mid-size businesses, preferably
has managed sales territory. This is a base plus commission position with bonus potential.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Obtain monthly sales goals
● Analyze customer needs in terms of current business development, public relations or community
outreach and match Chamber benefits to identified needs.
● Manage customer calls, set and prepare customer visits
● Present product, programs and mission of the Chamber
● Build/maintain sales pipeline of quality prospects
● Resolve problems and maximize opportunities
● Build trust with key contacts
● Close Chamber sales and reach Chamber sales goals


QUALIFICATIONS
● 3-5 years experience or education in a field closely related
● Advanced level prospecting experience
● Able to learn and understand product and service solutions and features
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Strong needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing skills
● Effective sales, marketing and project management skills
● Ability to work in a team environment
● Must be willing to travel locally 50%+


EDUCATION
● Bachelor’s degree with basic business courses preferred.
