The Salt Lake Chamber invites you to a member briefing on the progress and implications of S.B. 195, Transportation Amendments, passed during the 2025 Legislative Session and sponsored by Sen. Wayne Harper.
A major component of this legislation revises how Salt Lake City’s “highway reduction strategies” are reviewed — defined as any approach that could permanently reduce the number of vehicles able to travel on an arterial or collector road per hour. This includes lane reductions, lane narrowing or other changes that could impact traffic flow and increase congestion.
Currently, two formal studies are underway to carry out the directives of S.B. 195. The Salt Lake Chamber has representation on both study committees and is committed to ensuring the voice of the business community is heard.
