Known for their commitment to the health of our communities and stewardship of the environment, Repertory Dance Theatre will present a series of activities on Feb 18 at the Leonardo Museum to raise awareness of the importance of clean air. MOVEMENT EXPLORATIONS: RDT invites the public to participate in short Movement Explorations that will focus the impacts of air pollution, how the environment affects your health and the importance of making wise choices to help decrease pollution. Four Movement sessions beginning at 11:30am 12:00pm 12:30pm 1:30pm will invite your participation in a gentle and fun 20 minute movement adventure. PERFORMANCE At 2:00 pm RDT dancers will perform in response to Amy Caron's immense sculpture filling The Leonardo atrium. Holotype is a dynamic instillation inspired by algae that suggest an inner landscape or ''inscape: that the dancers will use as a springboard for choreography as they perform around, between, inside and under the translucent organic forms. The audience will gain a new perspective on the subject of ''clean air'' as they are invited to view the RDT dancers and the sculpture instillation from a variety of angles in the atrium gallery. The necessity of finding ways to produce clean and renewable energy is stimulating production of renewable biofuels using algae as a viable alternative to fossil fuel. *Activities with RDT are included with the admission price to The Leonardo. Please check their website for updated costs of general admission and membership.
