Crystal Young-Otterstrom

Crystal is the Executive Director of Utah Cultural Alliance and has over 15 years experience working in nonprofit arts, consulting, branding, fundraising, event planning, advocacy, and elections. UCA is the industry association for arts, humanities, and entertainment. Awards: two-time Enlightened 50 recipient from the Community Foundation of Utah, certified Utah Change Leader, Utah Business Magazine’s 40 under 40 in 2013, and a 2020 Star Award from the SCERA. Crystal serves on the boards of SLC Planning Commission, Utah Arts Alliance, Tanner Humanities Center, Americans for the Arts’ State Arts Advocacy Network Council, Utah Women & Politics PAC, BYU Political Affairs Society, and Better Utah Institute. She earned her bachelors in music theory with minors in humanities, economics, and marketing at Brigham Young University and earned her masters in musicology and composition from the Aaron Copland School of Music (Queens College, City University of New York).
